Visiting Medical Officer contract with underwritten income or salaried appointment

Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) provides multi disciplinary health services from three campuses to a growing population of 40,000 across East Gippsland.

BRHS incorporates a long-established hospital with 63 acute beds, 16 sub-acute beds, a well-equipped modern theatre suite (two operating theatres and a day-procedure unit) and a new Emergency Department.   Diagnostic facilities include a new CT scanner. In addition to medical and surgical services, BRHS attracts a range of visiting specialists, enabling it to provide services across the continuum of care. It is well supported from Eastern Health, which rotates eight Interns every ten weeks to provide junior medical officers for the wards, theatres and Emergency Department.

Applicants should have a primary medical qualification registrable with the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria and FRACS, or postgraduate qualifications and training in General Surgery which the College assesses as suitable for this position.

Flexible remuneration initially - either VMO contract with underwritten income or salaried appointment. Assistance with accommodation and relocation expenses is available.
