Telstra is Australia's leading media communications company and a top 10 Telco worldwide.  We are an employer of choice, with a reputation for being first to market with innovative products using emerging technologies.  An exciting new role now exists in Hong Kong within Telstra's internal M&A team which has responsibility for creating shareholder value through strategic acquisitions and business development initiatives.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Management of M&A activities ensuring ????? ????? the rationale, strategy, risks and financial impact associated with the projects are fully considered and developed with a high degree of rigour and commerciality and understood to board level
• Identify and develop acquisition, divestment and business development opportunities in partnership with Business Units and Senior Management Team.
• Manage the appointment and use of external advisers required to assist Telstra in any acquisition and divestment activities.
• Support the Group Managing Director and their Management Team's on acquisition, divestment and business development opportunities through the application of analytical techniques, capital structuring ????? ?????, commercial rigour and strategic assessment.

Key requirements:

• Prior experience in mergers and acquisitions or corporate finance activities.
• Core grounding in valuation techniques with advanced modelling and analytical skills.
• Reporting experience to Senior Management on specific acquisition, divestment and business development projects.
• Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Commerce, LLB) or post graduate (SIA, MBA, MFin, CFA or CA) qualifications.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable effective business interaction with senior management and experts/advisors of diverse backgrounds and skills
