Tunnel Project Leader > India

This is a key project within Northern India working on the US $540 million Rohtang Tunnel Project. My client requires an experienced Project Manager with solid exposure to large tunnelling schemes, preferably within mountainous areas. The tunnel will be 8.8km long on the existing Manali to Leh road which experiences heavy snowfall in the winter season.

Based in Manali, this is a 5 year posting a popular holidaying are in Himalayan India. You will be based on site and tasked with acting as the clients representative on site overseeing a major international contractor.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
• A minimum of 15 years experience in the design and construction of tunnels.
• Experience working in mountainous areas.
• Excellent Communication Skills.

Responsibilities:

• Act as clients’ rep on site.
• Lead project and manage team of expatriate and local staff.
• Liaison with other team members and clients.
