Responsibilities
He will be a key member to the product development process, as well as product delivery process, with a prime responsibility to translate the development concept into an implementable design solution. Under the leadership of the Chief Design Manager, his participation will be necessary for the entire property development process:

1.      Leading the interior design support in generic product development – producing a generic interior design brief with design standards and guidelines appropriately addressing the overall development concept and marketing needs, as well as conflicting constraints and requirements of different design disciplines and construction.
2.      Leading the interior design support in individual project evaluation.
3.      Upon confirmation of project by GIC, to prepare the concept design, and to develop detailed design briefs with design standards and guidelines for selection of design consultants.
4.      To participate, and subsequently to lead and manage the interior design process in the entire project development process, from design development, to construction, and operation stage:
a)      Exercise strong leadership skills to manage the interior design team so that they will work together as a coherent, fluid team in such a way as to optimize efficiency, ensure high standards of quality and optimal buildability, and consistent with the design vision.
b)      Manage overall interior design budget and fees, including individual team member budgets, to ensure adherence to budget. 
c)      Build and lead an interior design production team to bridge the gap between construction drawings and site construction needs, to review and approve all contractor / supplier submissions, as well as to handle design changes.
d)      Provide support in the communication of the design vision and requirements internally, as well as externally to government officials, joint venture partners, tenants, and other operating partners, whenever necessary.
e)      For investment holding properties, lead the interior design support to:
                 i.          Address any requirements from tenants that may lead to design changes, and to produce the most cost effective solutions to such changes.
                ii.          Implement necessary upgrade and renovation to maintain the properties’ competitiveness.

Requirements:

  1. University education, professional architectural qualifications
  2. 10 years relevant design experiences in all asset classes, minimum 5 years in PRC.
  3. Autocad & computer skills in powerpoint, excel.
  4. Leadership skill, with good resourcefulness, in leading and managing the potential design conflicts among members of the internal design team and external design consultants.
  5. Holistic and open mindset, creative, and eager to learn.
  6. Self-discipline, self-motivation, self-starter, excellent work ethics, loyal, proactive, hands-on, diligent.
  7. Long-term commitment in China.
  8. Mandarin and English – written and spoken.
