Our client is a well established confectionary machine manufacturer that has been in the industry for over 40 years and has won several export awards along the way. They’re seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer, metal fabrication background advantageous, although not essential.
This opportunity is in a workshop environment located in Alexandria. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, ensuring ????? ????? are maintained and work closely with the manufacturing ????? ?????.
Your daily duties will include:
- Inbound / Outbound orders
- Maintaining Inventory through computer system – MS Excel
- Administrative duties as required
- Deliveries and pickups, as required (driver's licence)
- Raising Purchase orders
- Shipping of goods local and international
- Obtain quotations and pricing from other suppliers, whilst ensuring ????? ????? company standards and best possible pricing
- Ability to read basic engineering ????? ?????, advantageous but not essential
- Able to multi task
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Tenacity, initiative and a proactive nature.
Requirements:
- 5 years purchasing / stores experience.
- Experience with MS Excel and Inventory Software.
- Demonstrated experience with reviewing processes, reducing costs and managing positive supplier relationship(s).
- Communication skills (verbal and written), time management and organization skills with an eye for detail
- Work co-operatively and collaboratively in a team environment
Remuneration is dependent on applicant’s experience.
