The Faculty of Education is one of the largest Faculties of Education in Australia with over 5500 students and 140 academic and general staff. The Faculty offers a wide range of courses in teacher education, information studies and human movement studies and is recognised internationally for the quality and diversity of their distance education programs.
The Murray School of Education concentrates on teacher education programs in early education - across birth to five, primary years and middle schooling - across the primary and secondary years, as well as servicing many of the Faculty's Distance Education Programs. The School has been preparing ????? ????? teaching since 1994. In that time they have grown from an initial intake of 40 students to more than 400 students across all year levels. In addition the School caters for over 900 distance education students.
As the Lecturer in Early Childhood Education you will have a strong background in children's learning and curricula in early childhood services and centres. You will have a solid understanding of theoretical perspectives on children's learning and the implications of these for curricula, pedagogy and practice. The successful candidate will teach in subjects in the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) and the Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to Five) programs and supervise and mentor students involved in teaching practice. The successful candidate will also undertake research relevant to Early Childhood Education.
