Perseus Mining Limited has an established reputation as one of the world’s most successful gold explorers and has demonstrated a credible track record of resource growth. Focused on underexplored gold belts in West Africa, Perseus has identified significant deposits in Ghana and the Ivory Coast. The company’s vision is to expand its gold resource base through rapid exploration of existing ground and the acquisition of prospective new projects, whilst also developing the Ayanfuri Gold Project over the next two years. The 5Moz Ayanfuri Gold Project (Central Ashanti Gold Project ) will commence development in late 2009, with gold production planned in 2011.

This position has direct responsibility for all site operations and off site activities related to the mine in Ghana. The GMO will have a demonstrated commitment to safety, environment and community management, a proven track record in production management, financial control and business development. Applicants with either mining or process backgrounds will be preferred. An early commencement has been proposed to ensure sufficient overlap with the development team and to source competent operational staff. Community relations, environmental management, government relations and stakeholder management will be a core part of this role.
