Packaging Manager

  • Packaging or Production Management experience required.

An opportunity exists to work with one of the wine industries most well known organisations. The role of Packaging/Production Manager is available for an experienced and professional production manager. With the priorities of Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Customer Service our client's vision is to be a world class packaging facility. Operating 24 hours a day, five days a week and they produce 16 million cases of wine annually.

Providing leadership and direction to the Packaging Line Supervisors, and ensuring quality, environmental and Occupational Health and Safety legislative requirements are met the Packaging Manager requires experience and the ability to manage a workforce effectively. Key to success is the ability to analyse line performance in order to contribute to the development and implementation of corrective actions.

Required for this role:

* Experience in a Bottling and Packaging or similar fast paced manufacturing environment
* Qualification in Frontline Management or equivalent
* Experience in leading a team
* Understanding and knowledge of Enterprise Agreements and relevant industrial awards.
* Understanding and commitment to OHS&W and Equal Opportunity principles in the workplace.

Successful applicants must be enthusiastic, confident and have highly developed people management skills. You will utilise these skills and outstanding leadership to maximise performance in a self managed team environment. You will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles to implement and drive continuous improvement strategies.

You will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 3 years experience in leading a team in a bottling / packaging or similar fast paced manufacturing environment. You will have a strong desire to be part of a team responsible for proactively and positively influencing the achievement of Packaging Operations strategic objectives.
