With an army of staff approaching 14,000 and turnover exceeding $4b, this multidisciplinary giant operates in a variety of sectors including mining, civil infrastructure, building, electrical/power and services/remediation, outperforming its peers with regard to quality of delivery, client satisfaction, staff retention, tendering ????? ????? award of high profile projects and financial success.
     
    At a time when competitors are shedding staff and reluctant tendering ????? ?????, our client bids for projects using their industry nous, market leading systems and complete mastery of construction and engineering ????? ?????, and aren’t afraid to implement new techniques in order to differentiate themselves from the market if need be.
     
    Our client seeks to appoint a Rail Design Manager to direct and deliver a CV$250m rail project in South Australia for a government client.
     
    Reporting to the Project Manager, The responsibilities of such a role would include:
    -       Experienced in design management from a contracting perspective
    -       Taking a client brief from inception to delivery
    -       Managing external consultants
    -       Assessing constructability
    -       Input into scheduling and the programme in association with the construction team
    -       Interpretation and implementation of design
    -       Compliance to the Safety, Environment, and Quality Management Plans
    -       Providing input into the Project Management Plan
    -       Financial and Progress reporting to the Project Manager
    As well as other duties as specified by the Project Manager.
     
    A role like this would require a bachelor degree in civil construction or related technical qualifications, as well as a background in Design Management within a Civil Contracting environment with strong rail bias.
