Kinetic Defence is the leading supplier of recruitment solutions to the Defence and Aerospace industries. Our client is currently looking for a System Safety Engineer who is looking to challenge themselves with a key role in a well respected Defence company.
This position will see the successful applicant working on a system will be fitted to a variety of ADF Air, Land & Sea mobile platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and implement the System Safety Program Plan;
- Development of verification plans and procedures for the System Safety Program;
- Monitor the development of all elements of design and logistics support to ensure System Safety factors are considered and addressed;
- Review all design and ILS documentation to ensure System Safety interfaces are considered and addressed;
- Perform Safety inspections;
- Develop Safety Training material and present training;
- Technical requirement analysis, including analysis of impacts of Contract Change Proposals and Engineering Change Proposals to the scope of the requirements;
- Requirements tracing within a requirements management database environment;
- Technical support to the preparation of subcontract Statements of Work;
- Technical support to execution of subcontracts and acceptance of subcontract deliverables;
- Technical support to Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Safety Engineering, Human Engineering and other specialty engineering disciplines;
- Technical support to the installation of equipment into Aircraft, Land & Sea platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Systems Safety in accordance with MIL-STD-882C and/or RCTA DO-178B or equivalent standards such as IEC 61508 or similar
- Experience in hazard analysis and fault tree analysis techniques;
- Engineering or Science degree;
- Strong interest in System Safety Engineering;
- Demonstrated analytical and decision making skills, focused on timely and effective use of available information;
- Ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
