Course overview

The Bachelor of Technology (Computing Studies) is designed to give you a foundation in programming and Information Technology fundamentals, while also providing you with the opportunity to study outside the realm of IT and to gain a range of skills in other areas. This innovative degree is taught online to allow you to apply what you are learning immediately.

With this degree you choose most of your program of study and essentially build your own degree. This allows you to build a solid foundation in programming and IT fundamentals, while also offering you the flexibility to engage with topics outside the field of IT.

Course structure

To obtain the Bachelor of Technology (Computing Studies) you must complete 24 units, and meet these requirements:

  • Complete 8 core units
  • Complete 1 Information Technology Elective and 3 Advanced Information Technology Electives
  • Complete an approved minor stream sequence of 4 units from any discipline
  • Complete 8 general electives
  • At least 8 of the units above must be studied through RMIT
