Kindergarten Director (Maternity Leave Position)
Isabel Henderson Kindergarten is a dynamic and innovative long day kindergarten and child care service for 3 - 5 year olds.
We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the smooth running of the centre, working with an admin officer and an experienced team of talented teachers. The position offers a great opportunity for a leadership role in a well resourced centre and a terrific environment.
The centre currently employs fourteen staff, including three Kindergarten teachers. In 2009 we offered programs for 116 children aged three to five years of age within four program structures. This includes a three year old sessional program, four year old sessional program and two long day programs for four year olds that give families the option of two, three, four or five days care.
As a long day service we are open 48 weeks of the year and are registered for Childcare Benefit. We are also registered with the National Childcare Accreditation Council and take part in the Quality Improvement Accreditation System (QIAS). Previous experience in administration of Childcare Benefit and related software packages and experience in the QIAS would be viewed favourably in this position.
The position of Director is for around 14 months full time as maternity leave cover. The role is primarily non contact however the Director is required to relieve in programs for some breaks and also to relieve in programs, where appropriate, when staff are absent.
The position is full time however part-time or job share applications will also be considered.
If possible, we would like the successful application to start in mid November with the first 2 weeks involving a comprehensive hand over with the current Director. The position will conclude at the end of kindergarten year 2010 (Friday 17 December). If possible the selected candidate would also attend the orientation morning for the 2010 program on Saturday 14November.
