Colbrow Healthcare

Colbrow Healthcare is Melbourne’s first nursing agency. Colbrow Healthcare was established in 1957 by Mrs Collins Brown, hence the name Col-Brow) in response to the need she identified for a continually available pool of Registered Nurses to provide individual care to patients when in hospital. Colbrow soon began providing this service to individual patients in most major metropolitan hospitals in Melbourne. This developed into providing nursing staff directly to the hospitals to cover sick leave and annual leave of their own nursing staff.

Since 1957, we have expanded our business to include several branches. Colbrow Healthcare now incorporates our general nursing agency, our specialist nursing agency, our first aid division and our homecare division.

Colbrow Nurses continues to provide general Registered Nurses and Patient Services Assistants to all major public and private hospital in Melbourne. Critical Solutions is our specialist agency through which we provide specialist nursing staff to all major metropolitan hospitals throughout Melbourne to all specialist areas including, theatre, midwifery, intensive care, coronary care and emergency. Critical Solutions pays extremely competitive rates to our well qualified nurses and have placements across all public and private hospitals in Melbourne.

Through First Aid @ Events, Colbrow Healthcare provides qualified medics to sporting, community and school events throughout Melbourne and Victoria. Our medics have been in attendance at such large music festivals as Splendour in the Grass, the New Years celebrations of Betterdays and the Alpine music festival held at Mount Buller over the summer. Our medics also attend at school sports events throughout the year and all across Melbourne and suburbs. We are always on the look out for qualified Medics (who have at least Level 2 First Aid) to attend at similar events and other community events, such as fetes and festivals throughout the year.

We are also a leader in home care services. We provide qualified nursing and allied health staff to private homes throughout Melbourne. Home care is a niche area and we always require suitably qualified Registered Nurses and Personal Care Assistance for these placements. We strive to ensure that our client’s are cared for by our staff in the same way they would expect to be cared for by their own family.
