Who we are

State Transit Authority of New South Wales is the government owned authority responsible for the operations of Sydney Buses, Western Sydney Buses, Newcastle Buses & Ferries. We have the largest and one of the most modern bus fleets in Australia. Our fleet comprises of more than 1,900 buses across 14 depots and we employ over 4,800 staff in all locations.

Our business goals are to provide a reliable, convenient, safe, efficient, courteous and comfortable passenger service. Latest additions to the bus fleet are designed to provide greater levels of customer service and comfort to our passengers and drivers and include the introduction of wheelchair accessible, low floor and air-conditioned buses. All buses have radio communication with a central radio room, video and other security features.
