Apprenticeships Plus is a not-for-profit, community-based, independent company that was formed in 1982 by local
governments in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne. The company employs approximately 600 Australian
Apprenticeships across more than 50 vocations, by identifying employment opportunities with host employers,
and supporting the Australian Apprentice and the Host Employer for the duration of the contract.
We offer flexible employment and training programs to ensure that the needs of Australian Apprentice's and Host
Employer's are all met. This arrangement frees host employers from the burden of paperwork, payroll administration,
monitoring and management which can be associated with employing an Australian Apprentice, and provides a safety
net for both the Australian Apprentice and Host Employer.
Our staff work closely with schools, training providers and community organisations to promote the value of
Australian Apprenticeships. The provision of high-quality candidates to prospective employers is a key component
of the company's success, as is our commitment to quality in all areas of operation. Our excellent reputation for
quality and service is reflected in our results over the 25 years of operation.
Apprenticeships Plus is a member of Group Training Australia, a network of Group Training Companies that employs
more than 40,000 Australian Apprentices across Australia, and works with thousands of employers.
Apprenticeships Plus is also an accredited RTO for courses including Business Administration, Certificate III
Engineering (Moulder Core-Making/ Patternmaking), a skills shortage area, and Workforce Re-entry Skills. We work
with partners such as Mission Australia to deliver programs which assist disadvantaged and disengaged job seekers
to develop vocational employment opportunities.
